Submissions

Broad Shoulder Press will accept poetry, personal essays, nonfiction, and short fiction.

  • Email submissions to broadshoulderpress@gmail.com using the following format for the subject: Submission Broad Shoulder LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME
  • Use .doc or .docx format. All entries must be 12-point Times New Roman font with one-inch margins.
  • All submissions must be original works created by the contributor. No AI-generated works allowed.
  • Short fiction may be up to five thousand (5,000) words.
  • Personal essays may be up to eight thousand (8,000) words.
  • Contributors can submit three to five (3-5) poems per reading period.
  • Simultaneous submissions are accepted. If the piece is accepted elsewhere, please let us know.
  • There is currently no compensation for submitted work. We ask for non-exclusive rights for online publication.
  • There is no fee to submit work.

Broad Shoulder Press is an online literary journal made in Wyoming. Amplifying new works by emerging and established Wyoming authors.
